Beaverton man arrested in Lloyd District stabbing
A local man has been arrested after police say he stabbed a restaurant employee in Portland "multiple times."
Beaverton resident Jordan Douglas Powell-Mathewson, 29, now faces a charge of second-degree assault.
North Precinct officers responded to the alleged stabbing in the 700 block of Northeast Weidler Street in the Lloyd District around 1:21 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, according to a news release.
Officers arrived on scene and found an adult male victim, who was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of "non-life-threatening" injuries.
Police say the victim was taking a break from work in the parking lot when he was allegedly approached by Powell-Mathewson, who the victim "did not know."
Police say they arrested Powell-Mathewson near his car in the parking lot. A knife was reportedly recovered at the scene.
Powell-Mathewson is in custody at the North Portland jail. Since 2016, he has been charged for second-degree theft, DUII, possession of methamphetamine, first-degree criminal trespass, first-degree robbery, menacing and other offenses, according to court records
