Suspect also found with police after being arrested, injuring three officers before being booked into jail

MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE - Aaron LocustA man was arrested after pepper-spraying nine people on board a TriMet bus on Saturday.

Police say officers arrived at Southeast 82nd Avenue and Lambert Street at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, after reports of a man using pepper spray on a bus.

The man, 31-year-old Aaron Locust, fled the area but was later found at a restaurant nearby and arrested. He took off his seatbelt during his transport to jail and tried to get away but officers held him down.

Three officers suffered minor injuries in the scuffle.

Locust faces charges of assault, interfering with public transportation, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, escape and criminal mischief.
