University of Portland officials are asking for the public's help to provide any information about a missing 18-year-old student.
UP announced Tuesday morning that Owen Klinger, a first-year university student, hasn't been seen since 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 and was reported missing by classmates and family.
Klinger, who grew up in Portland, was last seen leaving Christie Hall on the UP campus in north Portland around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, according to university officials.
Klinger is 6'1" tall, 165 pounds, with brown eyes and medium brown, shoulder-length hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans, sneakers and a drawstring backpack.
School officials say it's unusual for him to go more than a day without contacting loved ones.
Anyone who may have information is urged by Portland Police to call 911.
"We share in the concern of Owen's family, roommates and friends in seeking knowledge of his whereabouts," a statement from UP reads. "For Owen to go more than 24 hours without any contact with those who know him is unusual. ...With the community's help, we hope and pray for Owen's safe return."
Anyone who may have seen Klinger can also notify University of Portland Public Safety at (503) 943-7161; or the Portland Police Bureau (503) 823-3333.
