Police hold two during street racing patrols in Portland
Portland police arrested two men Sunday during another weekend of patrol targeting unlawful racing on city streets.
North Precinct and Traffic Division officers, along with an airplane unit, discovered the racing during a patrol Sunday, Oct. 13.
Police said they arrested two men and performed "numerous traffic stops."
• Daniel Efrain Lopez, 19, of Beaverton, was arrested on charges of reckless driving and reckless endangering. He has no record of criminal convictions and has since been released from the downtown jail.
• Weston Edward O'Brien, 29, no address, was arrested on a felony warrant involving a case of alleged second-degree criminal mischief earlier this year. O'Brien has 11 misdemeanor convictions on his record, and remains in the downtown jail, according to court records.
Portland police said there have been 53 major crashes within city limits this year.
