A person died in a crash between a motorcycle and a semi-truck on North Going Street early Thursday morning.
The name of the victim was not immediately released.
Police said the semi-truck was pulling a trailer and kept going west on Going. Investigators believe the driver may not have realized a crash happened.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but died at the scene.
According to police, North Precinct officers responded to the crash at 5:08 a.m. on Oct. 17. The Portland Police Bureau's Traffic Division's Major Crash Team is responding to take over the investigation.
Going was closed for hours but has since reopened.
