Portland police investigate Broadway hit-and-run crash
Portland police are seeking the public's help to identify a motorist accused of fleeing the scene after striking a moped rider in Northeast Portland.
Officers say the hit-and-run crash happened around 2:16 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21. Surveillance footage captured the driver traveling north on Northeast Ninth Avenue before turning west onto Broadway, colliding with the moped rider who was traveling south on Ninth.
The 35-year-old man on the small motorcycle was launched over the car, suffering serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the red Toyota Camry, believed to be a 1996 to 2002 model, did not stop.
Crime Stoppers of Oregon announced the hunt for the motorist, whose car likely has a smashed windshield and front-end damage, on Wednesday, Oct. 23. A reward of up to $2,500 cash is being offered for tips. Submit clues here.
