A group of Portland-area paddleboarders have taken that adage to heart, organizing a Halloween-season, full-costume paddling event Saturday, Oct. 26, on the Willamette River spellbinding viewers all along the river from Willamette Park on Southwest Macadam Avenue to Gov. Tom McCall Waterfront Park.

Participants last year collected goods for several local organizations, such as the Sunshine Division and Our House.
