Victim identified in fatal Irvington neighborhood shooting
Police have identified the victim in the fatal shooting in the Irvington neighborhood early Saturday, Nov. 2.
Thomas Osborn, 47, of Portland died of homicide by gunshot. To protect the integrity of the investigation, no further details are being released at this time.
Officers responded to Northeast Broadway near 21st Avenue in the Irvington neighborhood around 2:16 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired in the area.
Police say the suspect or suspects in the shooting had fled by the time they arrived. Police did not immediately identify the deceased victim, who died in a hospital hours after the shooting.
"The circumstances of the shooting are not being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation," according to a news release.
Police previously said earlier his injuries were "serious."
Officers closed down streets between Northeast 17th and 21st avenues while investigating.
