OSU panel will interview four to replace Ed Ray
Oregon State University's presidential search committee has narrowed its list of candidates to replace Ed Ray to four.
University officials said Wednesday, Nov. 6, that the committee looking for the school's next president has interviewed 12 people. Four candidates have been selected for second interviews. The candidates' names have not been released.
Ray will step down in June 2020 from the position he's held for 17 years. His successor will be the 15th president in university history.
The school's presidential search committee began work in October. It includes OSU trustees, faculty, students, administrators, staff, alumni, representatives from higher education and the community. A group of OSU stakeholders appointed by the chair will conduct second round interviews in November. Candidates also will be interviewed by the members of the board of trustees.
The board expects to appoint a new president this winter.
