Woman killed in Pearl District hit-and-run
A female passenger was killed after falling out of a truck that then ran over her in the Pearl District early Monday.
The driver fled the scene before police arrived.
The name of the victim was not immediately released. The suspect vehicle is a white pickup truck last seen being driven northbound on Northwest 9th Avenue.
According to police, at 2:22 a.m. on Nov. 11, Central Precinct officers responded to a call of a woman down in the street at Northwest 9th Avenue and Northwest Glisan Street. When they arrived, they discovered that she was deceased and that the vehicle that hit her had left the scene.
The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team responded to continue the investigation. Preliminary information is that the victim was in the passenger seat of a truck and, for an unknown reason, fell out of passenger side door and was run over by the truck.
Officers closed the area for the investigation. Northwest Glisan Street is closed between Northwest Park Avenue and Northwest 11th Avenue. Northwest 9th Avenue is closed between Northwest Flanders Street and Northwest Hoyt Street.
