A woman and her dog are injured by a car that left the scene of the Monday crash in the Buckman neighborhood.

PORTLAND POLICE BUREAU - An image of the suspect vehicle from a surveillance video.Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver who injured a woman and her dog in the Buckman neighborhood on Monday.

The adult woman was hospitalized and the dog is recovering.

The suspect vehicle is described as a red Toyota Matrix or similar model.

According to police, the crash happened at 11:19 a.m. on Dec. 2. East Precinct officers responded to a hospital where the victim was being treated. She reported being struck by the car while crossing Southeast Belmont Street at Southeast 20th Avenue. The suspect vehicle made a left turn, struck her and her dog, and was last seen Eastbound Belmont Street.
