Portland police: Felon with guns found in Mt. Tabor home
A wanted felon with guns was arrested after police located him inside a Mt. Tabor home, authorities say.
Richard Daniel Bond, 33, of Washington State, was arrested after the warrant was served on Thursday, Jan. 9, at his girlfriend's home in the 6900 block of Southeast Yamhill Street, according a probable cause affidavit. He now faces three counts of being a felon in possession of a gun, as well as a Washington County warrant relating to a heroin case.
East Precinct officers with the bureau's Neighborhood Response Team say Bond attempted to "escape out of a back window" during the arrest, but was confronted by officers.
Two rifles, one handgun and ammo were seized as evidence during the incident, police say.
Bond has 12 felony convictions and 21 misdemeanor convictions on his record, court docs state, including in Washington and California.
Bond remains inside the downtown jail at this time, records show.
