Teen arrested for multiple Happy Valley-area robberies
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies say they have nabbed the suspect involved in multiple cigarette robberies at a Rite Aid in the Happy Valley area.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Monday, March 23, deputies responded to an alarm at the Rite Aid, 12002 S.E. Sunnyside Road, located in unincorporated Clackamas County just outside city limits.
Deputies found a broken window in the front of the Rite Aid and located suspect Tyler James Borkgren, 18, of Portland, behind an adjacent Safeway store a short while later.
Police detained Borkgren, and finding him to be in possession of $324 worth of stolen cigarettes from Rite Aid, arrested him on two counts of burglary.
Police say Borkgren admitted to committing the burglary, as well as a similar burglary at the same Rite Aid on Feb 12, when he broke a window and entered the store several times, stealing cigarettes and alcohol before fleeing the scene.
