PPB: 'Serious' stabbing reported on Mississippi Avenue
Portland Police are investigating a Piedmont neighborhood knife attack that sent a man to the hospital Friday night, April 3, with a serious injury.
Officers with the North Precinct responded to the 7600 block of North Mississippi Avenue at 6:21 p.m. after reports of a stabbing. Police arrived and located the victim, an adult male.
"He was conscious and able to tell the officers that he had just been stabbed a block away," according to a news release.
Police say he was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Officers taped off the crime scene at North Baldwin Street and Missouri Avenue, and called in a search with a police dog, but the trail went cold.
The suspect is a "person known to the victim." Assault detectives are continuing the investigation.
