Small businesses can apply to receive emergency grant funding through Friday, May 1

Small businesses in Happy Valley ordered by the state to close as part of COVID-19 precautions can apply to receive emergency grant funding beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, April 24, through 4 p.m. Friday, May 1.

UPHIGHFILM.COM - Happy Valley City Hall-aerial view.The city will provide up to $300,000 to make payment on behalf of the business to the landlord, allowing up to $7,500 per month for up to two months (eligible months include April, May or June).

Payment will be made only after any rental abatement offered by the landlord or mortgage holder has been factored in.

In addition, if the rent, lease or mortgage invoice is greater than $7,500, the business will need to submit payment in the excess amount prior to the city providing the grant.

Eligible businesses must verify they intend to continue operations when government orders are lifted.
