Pedestrian killed by MAX train in downtown Portland
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a MAX train late Saturday near Goose Hollow in downtown Portland.
The name of the victim and details about the collision were not immediately released.
According to police, the investigation began at 11:11 a.m. on June 20 when Central Precinct officers responded to a report of a collision between a Trimet MAX train and a pedestrian near 1700 Southwest Yamhill Street. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators with the Transit Police Division and Traffic Division responded to assist with the investigation.
The identity of the deceased individual is being withheld until the Oregon State Medical Examiner's office completes their review and next of kin are notified.
