Three people are wounded in shootings that started Friday evening and ended early Saturday

MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE - Jaden Trea PetersonPortland police are investigating three shootings in six hours that left three people wounded.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.

The only suspect identified was arrested for shooting a gun during a downtown protest where no one was injured

The most recent investigtion began at 2:02 a.m. on Friday, June 26, when East Precinct Officers responded to the area near Southeast 126th Avenue and Powell Boulevard on multiple reports of numerous shots heard. One caller reported an injured person nearby.

When officers arrived, they located an injured adult male who was transported to an area hospital with serious but not life-threatening injury. An adult female also arrived at a hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries believed to be sustained during this incident.

Approximately 90 minutes before that, at 12:34 a.m., a male suspect associated with the Justice Center demonstration discharged a firearm into the ground in the 300 block of Southwest Main Street, After firing a round, the suspect fled the area on the TriMet Max train, continuing on the train until the Goose Hollow platform on the 1900 block of Southwest Jefferson Street. Once on the platform, demonstrators grabbed the suspect and held him until police arrived.

Jaden Trea Peterson, 21, was charged with Unlawful use of a Weapon, Discharging a Firearm in City Limits, and Possession of a Loaded Firearm in a Public Place. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center.

Hours before that, at 8:53 p.m. on June 25, North Precinct officers responded to the area of North Alberta Street and North Interstate Avenue on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived on scene , they located a male victim who had been shot. The victim was transported to an area hospital by ambulance.

Officers secured the crime scene and the Gun Violence Reduction Team responded to assist in the investigation.
