UPDATE: One person reported dead in Thursday evening shooting. Suspect arrested.

Portland police are dispelling notions that a fatal shooting outside a Southwest Portland strip club was racially motivated.

Portland Police Central Precinct officers responded Thursday evening to a report of a shooting in the Multnomah neighborhood of Southwest Portland at 8:16 p.m. Thursday, July 9. Media reports later identified the location as Reveal Lounge, a strip club in the 8300 block of Southwest Barbur Boulevard.

MULTNOMAH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Jordan ClarkPolice confirmed Friday, July 10 that one man was killed after the shooting. As of Monday afernoon, police had yet to release the victim's name, but friends and family members identified him as Dominique Dunn as reported by OPB.

Jordan Clark, 25, has been arrested in connection with the incident. Clark is charged with one count of second-degree murder.

The day after the deadly shooting, Dunn's family posted reports on social media suggesting Dunn, an African American man, was called derogatory names by the suspect beforehand. Portland Police Bureau maintains the incident was not a bias crime.

"PPB is aware of mis-information that is circulating about this case. Detectives interviewed multiple witnesses to this crime and there is no information at this time to support race was a factor that played a role in this case," the bureau noted Friday.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the area the evening of July 9 on reports of a subject who had been shot.

Southwest Barbur Boulevard was closed from Capitol Hill Road to 22nd Avenue during the investigation.

Police confirmed hours later than a man was killed. A resident told KOIN 6 News they heard five or six gunshots.

The incident remains under investigation by Portland Police Bureau.
