Milwaukie driver arrested for DUII; Sandy woman dies
Police said the Milwaukie driver of a Kia crossed the center line on Highway 224, causing a chain-reaction crash with four other vehicles and leaving one woman from Sandy dead July 28.
At around 7:15 a.m., near Southeast 197th Avenue, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said 51-year-old Kurtiss Orcutt of Milwaukie slammed into a Ford F-550, which lost control and hit an Acura, a PGE vehicle, and an unmarked Oregon State Police vehicle.
There were two people from Sandy in the Acura, 46-year-old Cynthia Martin and her 17-year-old daughter. Authorities said that Martin, the only person injured, was airlifted to OHSU but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Orcutt was arrested at the scene for DUII. Authorities said witnesses to the crash provided aid until emergency responders arrived.
