Police are investigating two separate shootings in different parts of town.

The names and conditions of the victims were not immediately released. A suspect in one shooting was arrested but not identified, either.

Police began their first investigation at approximately 2:50 p.m. on Aug. 25 when East Precinct officers responded to a shooting call on the 5300 block of Southeast Flavel Drive. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim with several gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

The suspected shooter was located in a vehicle nearby the crime scene and taken into custody by officers. A handgun was also recovered from inside the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the shooting that has not been contacted by investigators are asked to call the non-emergency line at 503-823-3333.

Then, at approximately 9:25 p.m. on Tuesday, East Precinct officers responded to an armed robbery where a victim had been shot at a restaurant located on the 7300 block of Northeast Glisan Street.

When they arrived on the scene, officers learned two male suspects entered the restaurant and demanded money at gunpoint. A victim tried to intervene and was shot. The victim was transported to an area hospital by ambulance.

The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival and have not been located. Officers have secured the crime scene and robbery detectives are responding to assist in the investigation.
