Police: Homicide victim often seen in dreadlock hairpiece
Homicide detectives are still on the case after a Portland man was found unconscious in the street and later died in a hospital.
The Portland Police Bureau said officers found 50-year-old Portland resident Gus Dino Komas — breathing but unconscious — lying on the ground on Northeast Ivy Street near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1.
He was taken by an ambulance to a hospital, where he died hours later. Police said he was assaulted, but haven't made any arrests or announced any suspect information.
Now they're seeking potential witnesses.
"According to the family, Mr. Komas wanted to grow his hair out and in lieu of doing that, he would often wear a long, gray, dreadlocked hairpiece," police said.
