Hikers found the body of Wood Village resident Abigail Agustin Paz, 19, around 1:15 p.m. on Friday in Minto-Brown Park, police say.

"Investigators are still working to determine her cause of death," according to a news release. "While a death in a public place may cause apprehension, please understand that this is an ongoing investigation, and as such, we cannot release any further information at this time."

Agustin Paz was an orientation student leader for the Ohana program at Willamette University, according to the school's website. She was also involved with the on-campus clubs Alianza and WU Causa.

"Being a first year college student is challenging, and being a first generation student, oldest sibling or coming from a diverse background might come with more individual challenges," she advised fellow students in a profile. "Remember that there will always be people and/or networks ready to support you, and to be patient and embrace the experiences you'll find yourself through."
