Motorcyclist killed in downtown crash
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in downtown Portland early Friday.
The rider has been identified as Timothy P. Boyette, 41.
According to police, shortly before 6 a.m. on Oct. 9, police responded to reports of a crash near Southwest 1st Avenue and Southwest Arthur Street. Witnesses told officers they saw the motorcycle crash into a fixed object and the rider was not moving afterward.
Police say Boyette was apparently riding along Southwest Kelly Avenue approaching the intersection of Southwest 1st Avenue and Southwest Arthur when his motorcycle left the roadway and collided with a light pole base and light pole. He died at the scene.
This is the 39th fatality investigated by the Portland Police Bureau traffic investigation unit.
