Driver went off road between Canby and Oregon City, striking a boulder, was pronounced deceased

One person is dead after their vehicle crashed on Highway 99E between Canby and Oregon City Thursday night.

Preliminary investigation of the crash revealed that Alexander Novin, 33, of Vancouver, was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound when they went off the road and struck a large boulder, according to Oregon State Police.

The crash occurred at about 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 near Highway 99's milepost 16 in Clackamas County, police said, which is at Highway 99E between Canby and Oregon City.

Novin sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Oregon State Police was assisted by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Clackamas Fire and Oregon Department of Transportation.
