Susan McLain is among the scheduled virtual speakers on transportation. Joe Biden himself is not slated to speak.

State Rep. Susan McLain, a Forest Grove Democrat who represents a district that includes Forest Grove, Cornelius and west Hillsboro, is one of the featured speakers in the Southwest Washington and Willamette Valley Oregon Conversation on Transportation Infrastructure.

The event is scheduled to begin 4:15 p.m. Friday. It will be held as a videoconference.

The program also includes former Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx; U.S. Rep. Denny Heck, who is also one of two Democratic candidates for lieutenant governor of Washington; and Washington state Sen. Annette Cleveland, a Vancouver Democrat.

As part of the discussion, speakers on behalf of the Biden presidential campaign will examine and review Biden's plan to "launch a national effort aimed at creating the jobs needed to build a modern, sustainable infrastructure now and deliver an equitable clean energy future."

The virtual discussion is a ticketed event, with advance registration required. Interested parties can register on Biden's campaign website.
