Police ID 18-year-old killed in New Year's Eve homicide
Portland Police have released the identity of the 18-year-old man shot dead during an incident in Northeast Portland on New Year's Eve.
North Precinct officers say Ja'mere Malik Brown died at the scene of a shooting near Northeast Alberta Street and Mallory Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31.
"An autopsy determined that he died by homicide by gunshot wound," according to a news release.
Another person at the scene also was shot, but police haven't made public any other information regarding the person's identity or the extent of their injuries. No arrests have been made in the case.
The investigation continues, authorities said.
