Two killed in Southeast Portland
Police are investigating an early Sunday double homicide in Southeast Portland.
The names of the victims were not immediately released. No suspect information was available, either.
The killings continue a surge of gun violence that began in the middle of last year and has continued into 2021.
According to police, the investigation began at approximately 3:35 a.m. on Jan. 17 when East Precinct officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 14300 block of Southeast Division Street. When they arrived, officers found two victims who were dead.
Detectives from the Portland Police Bureau's Homicide Division responded to the scene to lead the investigation. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Oregon State Medical Examiner at a later time and date.
Additional information will be released at the direction of the investigators.
