Traffic was disrupted on southbound I-205 near the Northeast Sandy Boulevard exit by a major crash Monday afternoon, Jan. 18.
The names and conditions of the victims were not immediately available.
According to authorities, four people were taken to a hospital and drivers were warned about severe traffic delays in the area as emergency crews respond to the scene.
Portland police told KOIN 6 News that four vehicles were involved in the crash, which resulted in two cars becoming engulfed in flames.
Of the four people taken to a hospital, two were in critical condition, including one with burn injuries, according to Portland Fire & Rescue.
