The route between Springwater Road and Highway 213 is impassable; reopening date undetermined

COURTESY PHOTO - A landslide near Clackamas River Drive has temporarily closed the road.

In the aftermath of several landslides, a reopening date for Clackamas River Drive in Carver has not yet been determined.

The road has been closed between Springwater Road and Highway 213 since late December. There were landslides in late December and early January, and because of an unstable slope near the road, there is the potential for additional incidents.

Road crews, engineers and geologists are assessing the area and will determine the next steps within the next few weeks.

"We are currently monitoring the slide area, and will open Clackamas River Drive when reasonably safe to do so. I understand this is creating an inconvenience, but the safety of the traveling public is my No. 1 priority," said Shane Abbott, transportation maintenance manager for Clackamas County.
