One dead, two wounded in overnight shootings
One man was killed and two people hospitalized in two overnight shootings.
The names of the victims were not immediately released and no suspect information was available, either.
The most recent investigation began at 12:19 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, when North Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a person shot near Northeast Failing Street and 141st Drive. When officers arrived, they located a victim, an adult male, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital and is being treated for injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening.
The suspect left the scene before police were called.
Before that, one man was killed and another was injured in a shooting at a bar in the Sellwood-Moreland Neighborhood.
According to police, officers responded to a report of two people shot at a bar in the 8300 block of Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard shortly before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26.
When they arrived, officers found two victims. Medical first responders determined one person was dead. The other person had life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The suspects left before police arrived.
In addition, shots were fired Saturday night near the 300 Block of Northeast Morgan Street in Portland, hitting two homes. No injuries were reported.
Police said that an occupant of one vehicle was shooting at another vehicle. Both the suspect and victim were gone before police were called.
