Three teens escape from Oregon youth prison in Woodburn
Police are searching for three youth who escaped from MacLaren Correctional Facility in Woodburn early Sunday morning after assaulting a MacLaren staff member.
According to the Oregon Youth Authority, Preston Andrizzi, 19, Anthony Fitz-Henry, 18, and Christian Goin, 17, lived together in the same unit at MacLaren. At 12:45 a.m., the three youths assaulted a staff member, stole their keys and escaped through a hole in MacLaren's perimeter fence.
Warrants have been issued for their arrest and law enforcement personnel are in search of the trio, who are all from the Salem and Albany areas.
The staff member was treated and released at an area hospital and the hole in the perimeter fence has been repaired.
"Our number one concern is protecting the safety and security of our staff, the youth in our custody and the community," OYA deputy communications manager Sarah Evans said. "We will be assisting the police with their investigation and will be conducting an internal review to ensure that this type of incident does not happen again."
Anyone who sees the youths is asked to call 911. If someone has information about the youths' whereabouts, they are asked to call Oregon State Police at 503-375-3555 and reference case #SP 21-07842.
