Escaped Oregon Youth Authority teens arrested near Albany
Three youths who escaped from MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn early Sunday morning after assaulting a staff member were arrested Wednesday afternoon, March 31, in Albany.
Oregon State Police detectives located Preston Andrizzi, 19, of Albany, Anthony Fitz Henry, 18, of Keizer and Christian Goin, 17, of Albany, in a vehicle in Lebanon around 2 p.m. Wednesday. The trio fled in the vehicle and were pursued toward Albany where law enforcement deployed stop sticks to flatten the vehicles tires.
One of the youths ran from the vehicle, but was caught and arrested a short distance away. The other two remained in the vehicle and were arrested without further incident.
No one was injured during the chase or arrests. All three are in custody in Linn County. Oregon State Police were assisted in this incident by the Lebanon and Albany police departments and the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
The youths escaped from MacLaren at about 12:45 a.m. Sunday, March 25, after assaulting a MacLaren staff member, stealing keys, and escaping through a hole cut in the facility's perimeter fence.
The staff member went to the hospital, received medical attention, and was released. The hole in the perimeter fence has been repaired.
"We are thankful to hear that the youths were located and that no one was injured in the process," said Sarah Evans, deputy communications manager for OYA.
