Samuel Lee BrooksSamuel Lee Brooks, 40, known to frequent the Milwaukie area, had no fixed address. He was found dead, floating face-down in more than two feet of water, along the riverbank near 1900 Clackamette Drive in Oregon City.

Brooks' body had been sighted downstream of the Sportcraft Landing Boat Ramp by a passing boater on a fishing-guide expedition who contacted 911 at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit deputies responded to the scene to find Brooks' body partially clothed.

Brooks' body may have been in the water for awhile, since it was covered in mud and aquatic plant growth. A Clackamas County Medical Examiner responded to the scene and examined the remains, followed by an autopsy at the Oregon State Police Crime Lab, but the official cause of death has remained undetermined as of April 5.

Authorities continue to investigate, and are asking for the public's help to clear up the circumstances leading up to Brooks' death.
