Sandy mayor, mulling run for governor, begins Oregon tour
Stan Pulliam, the mayor of Sandy, recently announced he is exploring a run for governor in the 2022 election. His announcement included plans to launch a listening tour across Oregon, joining mayors, community leaders, and others to talk about how to "bring Oregon back to its rugged, pioneer glory of innovation, fortitude, and freedom."
Pulliam has planned stops in Prineville, Redmond and Bend, but none in Jefferson County.
The public is invited to join Pulliam at three stops, one Friday and two Saturday, April 30 and May 1.
On Friday, April 30, he will be at the Foundry Four Coffee + Whiskey, located at 129 NW Fourth St. in Prineville, at 2 p.m.
On Saturday, May 1, Pulliam will be at General Duffys, located at 404 SW Forest Ave. in Redmond, from 1 to 3 p.m. From 6 to 8 p.m., he is scheduled to be at Kevista Coffee in Bend, 130 SW Century Drive.
Pulliam emerged as a leader in statewide politics by being a vocal opponent of Gov. Kate Brown's COVID-19 business restrictions in the name of public health.
