Female shooting victim dies in hospital
The female victim in the Wednesday, May 12, shooting in Northeast Portland has died in the hospital.
Police have identified the victim as Danae K. Williams, 25, of Portland. The male victim is still in the hospital with critical injuries. No suspect information has been released.
According to police, the investigation began at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday when North Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 6800 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. When the officers arrived, they located two shooting victims, Williams and an adult male. The victims were transported to a hospital for treatment. Their injuries were considered life threatening.
Detectives are investigating. They believe several witnesses may have left the scene prior to talking to officers, and they hope to hear from those witnesses as soon as possible.
