Man shot by suspect breaking into his car
Police are investigating two shootings in Northeast Portland, including one where a man was wounded.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, the most recent investigation began at 4:19 a.m. Thursday, June 10, when officers responded to a shooting in the 3500 block of Northeast Rocky Butte Road. They found a man who had been shot by someone he confronted who was breaking his car's windows. He was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The victim's name was not immediately released. No suspect information was available, either.
The shooting was first reported by KPTV 12 News.
Before that, just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, officers responded to a report of someone shooting at passing cars at Northeast 73rd Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street. The officers located a rifle and a suspect, who was then detained.
Police do not believe the suspect was intentionally shooting at passing cars, but at someone or something else. No injuries were reported.
