Frank David Keller, a 61-year-old who had been living on the streets in recent years, died in the Wednesday, June 9, brawl, according to authorities. Officers found Keller dead on the ground around 10:47 p.m. that night in the 4700 block of North Lombard Street.

Police obtained a description of the other fighter from witnesses and detained Anthony Matthew Hartley, 28, a few blocks away at Lombard and North Westanna Avenue. Hartley had been living in a motel a few miles away, per records.

Multnomah County prosecutors ordered Hartley released from jail on June 11, writing in a court document that "the state cannot proceed at this time as it is awaiting the final conclusions and report of the Medical Examiner's Office."

Police say the exact cause and manner of death are still pending, though the initial autopsy has been concluded.

Authorities say the investigation remains active and ask anyone with further information about the duo to come forward.
