Authorities say the shooting appears to have been related to a tow truck removing vehicles from a parking lot.

PHOTO - Hillsboro police officers responded to a fatal shooting spurred by a tow dispute on June 17.Hillsboro police say they took a person into custody Thursday morning, June 17, after a fatal shooting at the Park Creek Village Apartments.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 2000 block of Southeast 44th Avenue at about 8:51 a.m. Thursday, according to the Hillsboro Police Department. They found a person had been shot and killed.

Police say they identified the shooter and took them into custody.

There is no active threat to the community, police say. The investigation is ongoing.

"The information we have right now is this disturbance was related to a tow truck removing vehicles from the apartment complex parking lot," police said in a statement.

No further details on the alleged shooter or victim were immediately released.
