Devin Rose faces an attempted murder charge after police say he shot another man in the parking lot of My Place Hotel.

MCSO PHOTO - Devin RoseA Portland man has been arrested after he allegedly shot another man in a Gresham hotel parking lot earlier this month, police say.

Devin Moore Rose, of Portland, has entered a not guilty plea to charges of attempted murder, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a gun, per court records.

Authorities say the 29-year-old shot Demetrius Wade in the torso after some sort of confrontation in the parking lot of the My Place hotel, 2384 N.E. 178th Ave., on the morning of Sept. 4.

Wade was rushed to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, where he told investigators he was shot by someone he "did not know," according to a probable cause affidavit.

Gresham Police pulled surveillance footage from the area, which allegedly shows Rose rolling up in a white sedan, interacting with Wade and several men "milling about" another car, then driving out of the parking lot and firing multiple shots toward the cluster of people, court docs say.

Another one of the men in the parking lot described Wade as a "co-worker" for an unspecified job, court papers report.

Rose was arrested Sept. 8 by Gresham officers. He was convicted of one count of first-degree robbery in 2012, records show.

Rose remains behind bars at Inverness Jail in North Portland at this time.
