Incident results in second person since June dying by police action in the city.

COURTESY - Two Clackamas County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicles are shown here. A Clackamas County sheriff's deputy shot and killed a person early Monday morning, Sept. 27, during a traffic stop, the second suspect killed by officers in Happy Valley since an incident in June.

The agency said deputies tried to take the person into custody during the stop near Southeast 145th Avenue and King Road in Happy Valley. Police stated a "struggle ensued." The sheriff's office press release also said a handgun was recovered near the person who was shot and killed.

The sheriff's office did not respond to questions asking why the person was pulled over or why deputies attempted to take the person into custody. The agency also did not release the name of the person who was shot and killed or the name of the deputy who shot them.
