Pedestrian killed in NW Portland hit and run
Police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash that killed a pedestrian in Northwest Portland early Wednesday.
The name of the victim was not immediately released. No suspect information was available, either.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, Central Precinct officers were dispatched to a report of a person down on Northwest Yeon Avenue at #:28 a.m. on Oct. 20. When the officers arrived, they found a person who was deceased. The person was appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. No involved vehicle or driver stayed at the scene.
The bureau's Major Crash Team responded to conduct the investigation. Yeon was closed between 29th and 35th avenues for most of the morning. Highway 30 was also closed in both directions between 35th and 25th avenues for several hours but has since reopened.
