Shootings include a fatality, a woman shot asleep in her bed, woundings and violence at homeless camps.

PMG FILE PHOTO - An AMR ambulance.Ten people were shot in a 24 hour period in Portland on Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, the shootings included a fatality and a woman hit by a random bullet inside her home.

The identifies of the victims were not immediately released. The bureau is asking the public to help solve the cases.

The following is the list released by the bureau. Details are limited while the cases are in the early stages of investigation. Information is tentative and subject to change.

Friday, March 27, 2:57 a.m. at Southeast 128th Avenue and Sherman Street: A physical confrontation between a group of people resulted in shots fired. Two of the people involved in this altercation suffered gunshot wounds. One of the individuals suffered critical, life-threatening injuries and the other a serious, but a non-life-threatening injury. The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) responded to the scene and is actively investigating. Case No. 22-140475.

Friday, 3:49a.m., 700 block of Northeast 92nd Avenue: A shooting occurred when a resident confronted individuals breaking into a vehicle. Several shots were fired at the resident. There were no injuries, and suspects fled the area. Officers located a crime scene and evidence was seized. ECST conducting follow up. Case No. 22-140500.

Friday, 5:57 a.m., 7900 block of Northeast 21st Avenue: An employee retrieving a scrap metal dumpster discovered an individual inside the dumpster. When the trespassing individual was asked to leave so that the employee could remove the dumpster, a disturbance ensued during which a shot was fired. The suspect fled and arriving officers were unable to locate the suspect. Case No. 22-140551.

Friday, 6:03 a.m., 7100 block of North Columbia Boulevard: Police responding to the report of a shooting find a deceased man inside a house. Case No. 22-140552.

Friday, 12:25 p.m., Northeast 104th Ave and Wygant Street: Disturbance at a homeless camp possibly related to a stolen motor vehicle led to reports of a shot fired. Officers located a crime scene and evidence at the scene. No victims or suspects located at this time. ECST is conducting follow-up. Case No. 22-140845.

Friday , 5:45p.m., North Midway Avenue and Richards Street: Shooting that began as a verbal altercation at a homeless camp and resulted in shots fired. An adult female victim exiting a tent in the encampment was struck by a stray round as she was directly in line with individual shooting at intended victims. Another individual involved in altercation was struck as well. The unintended victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The involved individual sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was treated and released from hospital. ECST responded and is actively working case. Case No. 22-141124.

Friday, 6:04 p.m., 3700 block Southeast 71st Avenue: East Precinct officers responded to a disturbance with shots fired. The crime scene was located, and evidence recovered. A victim later walked into a hospital and the preliminary investigation connects that victim to this case. The victim has since been released from the hospital. Follow-up being conducted by ECST. Case No. 22-141139.

Friday, 10:49 p.m., Southeast Holgate Boulevard and 113th Avenue: East Precinct officers responded to hospital regarding a walk-in gunshot wound victim with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim claims they were victim of gunpoint robbery at Southeast 113 the Avenue and Holgate and was shot when the victim struggled with a suspect over a firearm. Officers were unable to locate crime scene, so far investigators have no corroboration. Case No. 22-141366.

Saturday, 12:20a.m., 7000 block Northeast 11th Avenue: Shooting appeared to be exchange of gunfire on the street and sidewalk. More than 20 casings were recovered. Three unoccupied vehicles were struck and an occupied home hit. A 62-year-old female occupant of that home was asleep in bed when a round penetrated the residence and struck her; her non-life-threatening injury was treated at local hospital. Investigators believe the injured victim was not connected to the shooting incident. ECST responded and investigators assigned and actively working follow-up. Case No. 22-141452.

Saturday, 1:06 a.m., 4800 block of Southeast Hawthorne Street: Shooting in a parking lot with two individuals injured and property damage to nearby homes. One victim with serious non-life-threatening injuries and one with life-threatening critical injuries. ECST investigators assigned and actively working this case. Case No. 22-141490.

"Critical incidents such as these take a significant number of police resources to respond and investigate, and the Portland Police Bureau is aware that many lower priority calls do not get a timely response. We are grateful for the patience from the community as we work through the calls," the bureau said.
