PMG FIE PHOTO - Police crime and crash scene tape.The Portland Police Bureau has identified the suspect in the fatal Tuesday morning stabbing in the Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood.

Judyann L. Edmond, 31, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of murder in the second degree and unlawful use of a weapon.

The identity of the victim will be released after the Medical Examiner has confirmed the cause of death and after family members have been notified.

According to police, at approximately 9:05 a.m. on Aug. 2, a stabbing was reported near the intersection of Northwest 5th Avenue and Northwest Davis Street. Officers from the Central Bike Squad arrived and located a victim with a stab wound. Despite receiving medical care, the victim was later declared deceased at an area hospital.

Central Precinct officers responded to secure the crime scene. A suspect was later arrested by bike officers.
