Jacob Matthew Ray Anderson, 33, was taken into custody by the Idaho State Police in Lewiston, Idaho. The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office is now coordinating with partners to extradite Anderson back to Oregon.

The incident took place on Sunday morning, July 24, when Anderson allegedly struck a Portland officer during a traffic stop, causing serious injuries that sent the victim to the hospital. While fleeing, Anderson also allegedly struck a car with two occupants, injuring an elderly woman passenger.

Both Portland and Gresham officers responded to the 15300 block of Southeast Powell Boulevard in search of Anderson, who continued to flee on foot. He was able to elude law enforcement, which included K9 officers and the Air Support Unit.

In addition to those allegations, Anderson also has warrants for his arrest in Benton County, Lincoln County and Clackamas County.

About two weeks prior to the injury hit-and-run, Anderson was arrested for another incident. Officers found him behind the wheel of a crashed car in the 2300 block of Southeast 157th Street after striking a parked vehicle and tree. He was transported to the hospital and cited for driving under the influence, reckless endangering, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance and felon in possession of a firearm.
