Police have booked a suspect in the 2019 death of an activist killed by a car outside a political watering hole.

Christopher E. Knipe is charged in connection with the murder of Sean Kealiher.

Kealiher was 23 when he died Oct. 12, 2019 after being hit by a vehicle on Northeast Ninth Avenue and Northeast Davis Street, police said. He died after leaving Cider Riot, a popular hangout for left-wing activists.

"At this time, investigators do not believe the crime was politically motivated," the bureau said in a statement on Thursday.

Knipe has been booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on a murder in the second-degree charge. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
