UPDATE: The three deaths happened Friday night in Old Town and early Saturday in Southeast Portland.

The names of the victims were not immediately released. A person has been detailed in one of the shootings.

The first shooting investigation began when According to the Portland Police Bureau, at 9:27 p.m. Aug. 26, Central Precinct officers responded to a shooting call at the intersection of Northwest Sixth Avenue and Flanders Street. When officers arrived, they found an adult male who was shot. The man was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

The Homicide Unit responded to investigate. During the investigation, Northwest Sixth Avenue was closed from Flanders to Hoyt streets. Additionally, Northwest Fifth Avenue was closed from Glisan to Broadway. The identity of the victim will be released after they are positively identified, the medical examiner has confirmed cause of death, and after family members have been notified.

Then, at 5:39 a.m. Aug. 27, East Precinct officers were dispatched to a crash on Southeast Stark Street and 133rd Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle had hit a tree.

As officers went to check the welfare of the driver and any occupants, they found a person outside of the vehicle who was dead. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries. Before hitting the tree, that vehicle also hit another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle remained at the scene.

The Major Crash Team responded and assumed control of the investigation. The second fatal shooting investigation began was 7:01 a.m. on Saturday when officers responded to a disturbance call on Southeast 92nd Avenue near Powell Boulevard, where they found an adult woman dead. Police say a man have been detained.
