One killed, teenage girl shot Saturday night
Portland police are investigating two Saturday night shootings, including a homicide and one where a teenage girl was shot multiple times.
The names of the victims were not immediately released. No one was arrested and no suspect information is available.
The homicide investigation began shortly before 10 a.m. on Nov. 19 when officers with the Portland Police Bureau, Port of Portland Police Department, and the East County Major Crimes Team responded to the Embassy Suite hotel near Portland International Airport.
Portland police said the victim died and as many as three suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.
Portland police and the were all involved.
KOIN 6 News saw a massive group of guests outside in the cold for a while before they were allowed to go back inside by 11 p.m.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, the first investigation began around 8 p.m. Nov. 19 when paramedics responded to the outside of the Barlow Tavern at 6008 N. Greeley Ave. There they found a girl described as 17 or 18 years old who had been shot. She was rushed to the hospital.
Responding officers do not believe that is where the shooting took place. They believe she was shot somewhere else and driven to that spot to wait for emergency responders.
Bullet holes were visible in a car near the intersection of North Greeley and Ainsworth, KOIN 6 News reported.
The shootings are the most recent in a yearlong surge of gun violence in Portland. Three people was shot on Friday, including another teenager.
