Portland shootings: Two killed, one critically wounded
Police are investigating three shootings in two days that killed two people and left another critically wounded.
The names of the victims were not immediately released.
The most recent investigation began around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24, when officers responded to a shooting report near North Lombard Street and North Alta Avenue. They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Officers then responded to a nearby crash scene where they found and arrested the suspect in the shooting investigation, Barbara Michelle, 43.
Police said the bureau's Domestic Violence Reduction Unit conducted an investigation before Michelle was booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center on one count of first-degree assault (domestic violence).
Before that, at around 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Central Precinct officers responded to the 4200 block of Southeast 37th Avenue in the Creston-Kenilworth neighborhood on a report of a person shot.
Officers arrived and found a victim. Despite attempting life-saving aid, the victim was declared dead at the scene. Homicide detectives responded to take over the investigation.
And around 9:10 p.m.,North Precinct officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 11000 block of Northeast Glenn Widing Drive in the Parkrose neighborhood.
