Gunfire in Brentwood-Darlington leads to two arrests
On Tuesday, April 10, just after midnight, at 12:55 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to reports of gunfire near S.E. 78th Avenue and Flavel Street in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood.
As officers responded to the area, a caller informed a 9-1-1 call taker that they'd heard gunfire, looked out a window, and observed a suspect holding a gun on a nearby street corner. Officers went on to obtained a description of two suspects associated with the gunfire.During a neighborhood search, officers found two men matching the suspects' descriptions near the intersection of S.E. 82nd Avenue and Henderson Street. The suspects were taken into custody, and a firearm was recovered.
During a canvass of the neighborhood, officers did not find anyone with injuries, or property that had been damaged by the gunfire. But, as officers inspected the firearm, they learned it had been reported stolen .
The suspects were identified as 23-year-old Olavi Elijas Nauha and 24-year-old Ronnie B Davis, Jr. Nauha and Davis were lodged at the Multnomah County Jail. Nauha, on charges of Theft in the First Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Loaded Firearm; Davis, on charges of Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Theft in the First Degree.
