Not a fan of Cinco de Mayo celebrations...?
On Saturday May 5, at 11:39 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the 900 block of Southeast 11th Avenue, near Belmont, after calls reporting that a man on a balcony was pointing a rifle in different directions towards a street fair.
Arriving officers were able to see the man on the balcony holding what appeared to be a rifle, and a guitar.
Officers made contact with the man and determined that the gun was a BB rifle -- and that he'd fired it, in violation of Portland City Code 14A.60.020 (Discharge of Firearms).
The suspect, 30-year-old Eben David Eubanks, reportedly insisted he had not been firing it at people or the street fair, but instead at "objects" on his roof.
However, he was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on three counts of Discharging a Firearm in the City.
